Week 15!

For the past 25 years NFLT has been dedicated to preserving and enhancing North Floridians quality of life by protecting North Florida’s irreplaceable natural environment.

A Rebrand and a New Membership Program

In the spring of 2023, NFLT debuted a vibrant new branding package alongside its first-ever membership program. The new branding for NFLT was about more than just aesthetics; it was and continues to be a reflection of our expanded role in conservation in North Florida. Whereas NFLT had its origins in preserving land, we have now grown to offer numerous conservation services at a local, regional, and governmental level. NFLT has evolved from a local entity into a respected leader in conservation, serving as a conservation buyer and working collaboratively with landowners, local governments, and other nonprofits to identify the best conservation solutions.

The rebrand came at a pivotal moment for NFLT, marking several years of significant growth for the organization and a commitment to a new strategic plan. The centerpiece of the rebrand is a striking new logo that features a roseate spoonbill—a bird emblematic of the diverse habitats that NFLT has worked tirelessly to protect. Accompanied by fresh colors and vivid imagery, the logo encapsulates the beauty of North Florida’s natural landscapes. The tagline “In Land We Trust” reinforces the organization’s commitment to land conservation, inviting the community to join in its mission.

Engaging the Community Through Membership

Central to the rebrand was the introduction of an annual membership program designed to deepen community involvement. Membership was designed to offer a variety of engagement opportunities for supporters, allowing them to gain an inside look at NFLT’s special projects and conservation efforts. The membership levels range from the $45 Friend Level to the $1,000 Champion Level, making it accessible for a wide range of supporters. Each membership tier comes with its own set of benefits, including merchandise, discounts, and a subscription to a bi-annual newsletter. Members also receive early access to ticketed events and member-only hands-on activities such as guided kayak tours of our preserves and monthly “Members and Friends” hikes with the stewardship team. All of the benefits of membership are designed to foster a sense of belonging and encourage active participation in conservation initiatives. The unrestricted donations generated from the membership program support NFLT’s conservation efforts and enable us to act swiftly, ensuring that vital lands are protected now and for future generations.

A Vision for the Future

Prior to the rebrand, NFLT engaged in a comprehensive strategic planning process that resulted in a refreshed mission, vision, and values statement. The goal of the new strategic plan: To underscore NFLT’s position as a leader in land conservation across the region and to make sure NFLT is positioned to best protect the natural spaces that make North Florida special. The rebrand and membership initiative were essential components of this plan.

NFLT’s rebrand and the launch of our membership program marked a significant milestone in our growth as a land trust. As a land trust we wanted to do more to support our ongoing efforts to conserve the region’s natural resources. By inviting the community to participate in our mission, NFLT is not only protecting land but also fostering a culture of stewardship and environmental awareness. This positions NFLT to make an even greater impact, ensuring that the beauty of North Florida’s landscapes endure for generations to come. Whether through membership or participation in conservation initiatives, the community is encouraged to join NFLT in this vital endeavor—because now, more than ever, it’s clear: In Land We (Must) Trust.
